Global Opportunities Pool

Girls can save our planetEvery year, adult members represent Girlguiding at international conferences, seminars and training events organised by WAGGGS, the UN and other organisations.

These events give young women the opportunity to develop new skills, meet guiding members from around the world and have their voices heard in an international forum.

If you are a Girlguiding member aged between 18 and 35 and are interested in attending events ranging from UN conferences to international seminars, then join our new Global Opportunities Pool.

In 2011, young women representing Girlguiding attended:

• The UN Status on the Commission of Women in New York and UN Commission on Climate Change in South Africa
• Young Women's World Forums at Sangam and Our Cabana
• WAGGGS Leadership Development Programme events in Burundi and at Our Cabana
• Commonwealth Youth Forum in Australia
• WAGGGS Europe's Training in Partnerships and Round Table on Rovers and Rangers.
